Another short’n’sweet update:

As part of the Esri Cartography MOOC I’m doing just now, I made this Spilhaus World Ocean Map in one of the exercises.

I’ve been using ArcGIS for the first time in the last couple of weeks and I’ve come across the Swipe tool. My immediate thought was “oh that’s awesome” which was swiftly followed by “I wonder if QGIS has this as well?”

Things I’ve gotten up to since my last weeknotes:

• continued the Esri Cartography MOOC
• started the Data Visualization Fundamentals and Best Practices from Observable
• tinkered with my website: playing with flex to tweak the layout
• tinkered with my website: created a shortcode for images that are drawings
• fixed the obsidian-remarkable plugin’s post-processing script

A few more words about each of those…

So I fell out of the habit of doing weeknotes for a few months there.

Things I got up to in the last week:

• GEOG 868: Lesson 5: Working with Esri’s Desktop Geodatabases
• read some of my BCS cartography book
• accidentally started a website redesign project
